Athlone Optical has been servicing Irish Industry with the manufacture and supply of prescription safety eyewear for over 30 years. Our business is located in Athlone Co.Westmeath and our central location means we are best positioned to service the needs of companies and opticians nationwide. As the only Irish certified manufacturer of prescriptions safety eyewear, all safety eyewear is produced on state of the art equipment, from our facility in Blyry Business Park, Athlone. This means we are able to ensure employees are provided with their bespoke PPE requirements in unrivaled lead times meaning no loss of time to the employee or company due to insufficient levels of PPE.

What this means in short is that risk assessments should be carried out on tasks and PPE provided whereby all other care, unavoidable. If it could happen, the protection needs to be in place to prevent injury.

The Process

We work closely with companies and opticians nationwide in the provision of safety eyewear. Companies can deal directly with Athlone Optical where we provide both product and eye test (through our network of excellent partner opticians). Many companies prefer to tender locally and support local businesses. We are very happy to offer the best in terms of frame and lens combinations to these customers and work as partners to the local Optician in the supply chain.
